Frequently asked questions DISPOSABLE SYSTEMS
1.Can Disposable Liners be reused?
No. Re-use of disposable bottler liners - both the Drop-Ins and Soft bottle liners is not recommended. The advantage of Playtex Disposable Liners is that when you use one, you have a pre-sterilized container allowing for the most sanitary condition possible for feeding you child.
2. Can the nipple, caps and rings be used on other bottles?
No. These parts are designed exclusively for use with Playtex holders and liners.
3. Can other nipples, caps and rings be used on Playtex bottles?
To achieve the most benefit from our nurser systems and bottles, we suggest you use the components designed for that system.
4. How do you read the measurements on the Drop-Ins and Original Liners?
For Drops-Ins the measurements can be hard to read due to the transparent design of the liners, however the ounce markings are indicated on them. Original Liners have ounce marking in ink printed on the liner.
If you have trouble reading the measurements on the liner itself, refer to the marking on the holder.
5. Can nipples be boiled after each use? Should nipples be boiled after each use?
Playtex suggests that all nipples be boiled for 5 minutes prior to first use. Do not boil latex nipples thereafter. After each use, wash nipples in hot, soapy water for about one minute and rinse thoroughly.
Whilst boiling is perfectly acceptable, it should be noted that continued sterilisation will reduce the service life of any latex nipple. Over time, boiling willl cause any latex nipple to swell and will hasten the degradation of this natural material: therefore we suggest rigorous inspection procedures which are included on evey lable.
Silicone nipples on the other hand are better suited for boiling, but should nevertheless be checked continuously before each use for cracks, tears or signs of excess wear.
6. Can bottle warmers be used to heat the formula in Playtex Disposable Bottles?
There are so many types of bottle warmers available on the market and we have not tested our products in all of these various types of warmers: therefore we recommend following the warming directions provided in the product instruction leaflet. If you choose to use a bottle warmer please follow the manufacturers recommendation for using with a disposable product.
